monca is proud to present an evening of classical guitar with Yuri Liberzon, an internationally acclaimed concert classical guitarist and a Naxos recording artist. Once praised by Classical Guitar Magazine for combining "musical elegance with architectural logic", Yuri Liberzon offers audiences an unforgettable experience.
Born in Novosibirsk, Russia, and raised in Israel, Liberzon studied with Manuel Barrueco at the Peabody Conservatory and Benjamin Verdery at Yale University, on full scholarship at both. He has released five solo and collaborative albums — including Konstantin Vassiliev: Guitar Works (2022) and Astor Piazzolla: Music for Guitar (2024) on the Naxos label, with a third album currently in production. Liberzon has performed across the United States at venues including the 92nd Street Y in New York, and teaches at his studio in Los Altos, California.
