Hey Chico Wedding Couples! Join local dancer and choreographer, Ray Hayes, for a fun, beginner-friendly Wedding Dance Workshop at the Museum of Northern CA Art (monca) on Saturday, August 29th from 11:30am-2pm.
You don't need to be planning a wedding to join! You may take the classes with a friend, relative, significant other, or even solo! Absolutely no previous dance experience required. Two left feet are welcome here 👣
Workshop Schedule: Saturday, August 29th

11:30am - Arrive, check-in, meet and mingle ~ You may bring song recommendations during this time.

11:45am - Intro to Wedding Dance - Learn your dance frame, simple turns, and how to authentically connect with your partner on the dance floor.

12:45pm - Intro to Dips & Tricks! - In this section of the workshop, we will uncover the myths and misconceptions about dips in dance. Dips are accessible for all heights and body types when done correctly. Let Ray guide you through what's possible for you!

1:30pm - Putting it all together – Dance to your song suggestions and see how your movements can fit with any song! Ray will be floating around to answer questions.
✨Sparkling waters and light snacks provided. Feel free to bring something to share! We will have plates, napkins, and utensils.
Pricing: The cost for the workshop is $40 per person or $60 per couple. Pricing will go up to $45 per person or $65 per couple at the door. Space is limited.
Meet your Instructor: Ray Hayes started dancing at the age of 5 in solo dances like Jazz and Ballet. In 2013, she discovered a love for partner dancing while directing a Lindy Hop (Swing Dance) performance team in Orange, CA. In 2017, Ray was hired at Chapman University to teach Salsa, Bachata, West Coast Swing, and Fusion Dance.
Ray has been invited to teach and perform in Los Angeles, Sacramento, Palm Springs, Dallas (TX), Jacksonville (FL), and Seattle (WA). She also holds a 1st place win in Advanced West Coast Swing at the US Open Swing Dance Championships, 2019.
With over 10 years of teaching Wedding Dance, Ray specializes in two-left-feet and creating beautiful dances for your special day.
