Local artist, Kathleen Nartuhi is hosting an Introduction to Handmade Books workshop at monca on Saturday, November 22nd from 1-3PM.
During the workshop you will learn the basics of how to construct two folded books in the X book and accordion book styles. The X book is great for hiding a surprise or a secret; the accordion book has more pages excellent for longer texts and/or images.
Detailed handouts with instructions along with guidance from Kathleen makes this workshop great for beginners. Come with ideas, questions, and openness to explore!

Kathleen Nartuhi is an experienced artist with a background in printmaking, creating artist books, and teaching craft workshops. In addition to participating in international artist book exchanges with fellow artists, her books have been in exhibitions in France, South Africa, and Australia, and are in numerous private collections. She sells vintage notecards in the monca Museum Shop.
