Experience the quiet power of bonsai during a special pop-up Bonsai Display presented by the Chico Bonsai Society.
Thursday, December 11 through Sunday, December 14th from 11AM-5PM, visit monca to check out amazing bonsai creations in the gallery spaces.
The current exhibition on view is titled H2O and presents scenes and moments with water as the subject. Bonsai is a beautiful compliment to this exhibition, as it refers to the careful cultivation of nature and symbiosis between human life and the natural realm.
As a sculptural art form, bonsai offers the viewer an opportunity to ponder the relationship creation and cultivation play in art practice and nature.
Thank you to the Chico Bonsai Society for allowing the museum to display your incredible work! The Chico Bonsai Society was established in 1976 and works to promote the appreciation, knowledge, and cultivation of the art form. Learn more about the Bonsai Society here.
The bonsai display is included in the price of regular museum admission: $5 General Admission and FREE for all monca members and students with a valid school ID.
