After a rigorous search for a new Executive Director, monca's Executive Board recently announced the selection of Erica Hill to fill the role.
Erica Hill is an arts administrator, cultural advocate, and nonprofit leader with a background in museum studies, anthropology, public art, and community-based cultural programming. Before joining monca, Erica served as Public Art Coordinator for the City of Reno, where she managed municipal public art programs, six gallery spaces, arts grants, and a collection of more than 300 public artworks. Previously, she worked with the Nevada Arts Council, supporting artists, nonprofit organizations, local governments, and Tribal communities through grant assistance, professional development, and statewide cultural initiatives.
Erica holds a Master of Arts in Anthropology from San Francisco State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with an emphasis in Museum Studies from California State University, Chico, where she also worked at the Valene L. Smith Museum of Anthropology.
Returning to Chico represents a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with the community that helped shape her career and contribute to monca's continued growth.
Help us welcome her to back to the Chico community with a free public Meet and Greet event at the museum on November 8th from 3 - 5pm.
