Muriel Anderson Live Harp Guitar Concert

Published:
Muriel Anderson Live Harp Guitar Concert

Join us for a night of classical guitar music performed by Muriel Anderson at monca on Friday, April 4, at 7PM.

Musician and educator Muriel Anderson specializes in harp guitar, a type of guitar created to accommodate individual string plucking. Anderson studied music at DuPaul University in Chicago and became the first woman to win the National Fingerpicking Guitar Championship. She has performed with legendary musicians Doc Watson and Chet Atkins. Her music was included in the soundtrack for the award-winning film Vicky Cristina Barcelona and her 1988 album Heartstrings accompanied astronauts on the space shuttle Discovery.

Muriel is not only a phenomenal musician—she’s a joyful, engaging performer who brings her original compositions to life, along with fresh takes on pieces you know and love. She’s the kind of artist who draws you in from the first note and leaves you feeling lighter by the end of the night.

Whether you’re a longtime guitar fan or curious to hear something new and inspiring, this is a night you won’t want to miss.
