Opening Reception for “A Palette of Thoughts” by Jess Mercer

Join us in welcoming this moving exhibition focused on mental health awareness, “A Palette of Thoughts” by Jess Mercer.
“I’ve intentionally collaborated with 50 local artists from all ages throughout Butte County to curate a one of a kind art show. Come celebrate the work of local children, teens, and adults in hopes to bring more awareness to individuals’ experiencing mental health setbacks and triumphs in our community through creation and education!
The reception will be full of live musical performances by local youth showcasing their talents, a chance to meet the artists, and engage in an interactive piece during the show! Come support ALL the artists and enjoy all aspects of the show!
Each artists was asked to create a piece, on a palette, based on a mental health topic or experience they or someone they love has faced. The artists are also instructed to share on their narratives, to answer one question in hopes of leaving the observer with encouragement and support. The question over 50 artists will be answering alongside their incredible multimedia pieces is this:
“How would you support yourself or someone you care for experiencing this?” The impact both visually, and educationally, of the show will leave its mark on all those who attend. See ya there!” -Jess Mercer
